Introduction

The next Ice-age is the theme for Battlefield 2142 featuring many maps based on the icy tundras of europe to the ruins of Berlin city Battlefield 2142 is set to rock your [future] world.


In this battlefield game it focuses on 2 factions battling it out to survive the ice age, EU [European Union] and PAC [Pan Asian Coalition] sadly no 3rd faction in this game. As the game is on a future war it needs future warfare featureing hover tanks, EMP grenades, unmanned sentry drones and many more.


Rather than previous title: Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 has 4 infantry roles than 6. Part of this is better not worse in a way. Roles such as medic were given to assault and anti tank was given to engineer, special forces with sniper and the list goes on. Unlike Battlefield 2, when first playing Battlefield 2142 online or singleplayer...you dont start with much, you dont even start with grenades. This calls for amuch deeper upgrade system...instead of just unlocking weapons players can unlock weapon addons, weapon abilities, squad beacons, medical defriberaltors you can even get shotgun and rocket/grenade addons for assault rifles. There are 8 weapons to start off with in this battlefield title, 2 for each role and split that and 1 for each faction for the role. Though balanced and effective anyway you will find advantages with unlocked weapons for firepower, accuracy or many other reasons. Although you may have to work your way up you might find unlocks in weapons worth it's weight in gold.


Vehicles have also changed. Although the tanks were so cool before in battlefield now There are hover tanks that can strafe, Big mean as Walker robots [like AT-ST in starwars] and Fast attack buggys with the hint of NOS to give it a speed boost. Yes the future is here and you better enjoy it. Although a tank is a tank and a APC is an apc most of the vehicles have features worth using such as Speed boost for Fast attack buggies and transport escape pods for APCs gameplay aspects towards certain vehicles can change. Most vehicles even have a short temporary forcefield to replace smokescreen and countermeasures...How cool is that?! Although the cold reality seeps through the future is not all glorious in this game there is no humvees, no jets and no boats.


Multiplayer is the main point of the game although singleplayer is there...its never been a strongpoint of battlefield. Multiplayer games like battlefield 2 can have up to 64 player on a server and like battlefield 2 it has dedicated servers and clan support. There are about 1000 servers out there as well many have great people on them you can add that to your server favourites although its nothing new it will have you having more fun in the long run. Another feature of Battlefield 2142 is the new game mode: 'Titan'. Titan is a gamemode that features 2 giant futuristic battlecraft for each side to protect. Commanders on each side can move the titan across the map and players can use the computers to operate the guns on the underside of the battlecraft to obliterate anyone underneath. To take down the enemy titan, players must take control of missile silos to fire anti titan missiles towards the enemy's titan to damage the enemy titan shield till it is know more. Without a shield the titan ship is vulnerable to enemies boarding the ship and ultimately destroying the reactor in the middle obliterating the titan and all who are aboard. To destroy the titan reactor players must infiltrate the ship destroy the reactor room computer which destroy the doors to the reactor room then player can shoot and destroy the reactor and run as fast as they can off the ship. If teams have organised squads and teams with good communication this game mode is really fun you may get addicted to it after couple of rounds. Although Titan may seem like awesome fun the legendary conquest game mode is still open for hardcore Battlefield series fans.
